Amy, a mom with the "inside track," and her daughters.

So, if you are just tuning in, I am in the middle of telling you about our weekend of playing Branson visitors with our family from Texas.  After our late night at The Track (and kids not going to bed early!), we decided to sleep in!

I know that sounds really wimpy.  After all, we really had had only ONE evening (not even a full day!) of Branson fun under our belt, and we already felt the need to sleep in?!  I like to think of it as getting geared up for the rest of the fun we were going to have over the weekend!  I’m glad we did because the next few days were action-packed!

We finally got up and around in time to go have lunch.  We chose Jimmy John’s, which is a really yummy (and quick!) place to grab a very delicious sub sandwich.  And, it’s close to Track 3 (where we planned to go next), and you get a 10% discount off of your entire ticket if you flash your Track Go-Card!  A good choice all-around, I’d say!

We headed over to Track 3 after lunch to ride the Bumper Boats:

Needless to say, the kids and my brother-in-law got totally soaked!  Remember, doing Bumper Boats first is my favorite summer “cool off” tip.  It was really hot this day, so they didn’t mind being a little wet!  Next, we headed over to the Road Course track:

Two of the kids agreed that this is one of their favorite tracks!  My youngest did not agree, but I think that had more to do with the fact that she was not as “in control” of the ride as she was last night!  In other words, she got passed by both her sister and her cousin!

Here’s the entire crew after a successful ride.  Yes, they are are still a bit damp from the Bumper Boats, but they’re still cool!:

After our time at The Track, we went over to the Cool-Off Water Chute.  We don’t do this often, but it is one of my girls’ favorite summer activities (and was a special request from my nephew!).  They slipped and sled down the slide over and over and over and over.  I’m going to tell you something . . . if you need an activity that will wear your kids out fast, this is the one for you!  Here is just a sample of our fun:

What a great time!  After about an hour, we went home to get ready for the evening activities . . . we started with dinner at Pizza World (by Track 4).  Dinner went as expected . . . LOTS of eating (the buffet works well for this!) and LOTS of silliness:

If you don’t recognize it, that is Yakov’s mouth.  Yes, in addition to getting all the information you need about his show, you can use his handy-dandy brochure for hours (well, maybe lots of minutes) of fun!  And by the way, if you have never seen Yakov perform, you really should try to make it happen this year.  After this fall, he will no longer be performing full-time in Branson.  Click here for more about Yakov’s remaining shows and his future plans – exciting!

After completely stuffing ourselves at Pizza World, we went to the Mickey Gilley Theater to see SIX.

This show is incredible and one that we like to see again and again.  These six brothers are unbelievably talented, they perform a wide-range of music, and they make you wish you had just a portion of their energy!  Check it out – you won’t be disappointed!

Stay tuned for more Big Fun . . . Branson Style!
